Research Program
The research program is divided into two main research areas. Area A investigates the mechanisms of nucleic acid immunity on the molecular and cellular level, whilst area B focuses on the functional consequences of nucleic acid immunity on a systemic level. Within each area the projects can be further subdivided into specific research topics:
Area A, Mechanisms of nucleic acid immunity on the molecular and cellular level:
- Detection of nucleic acids
- Regulation of nucleic acid recognition by nucleases and metabolism
- Regulation of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) and their signaling cascades
Area B, Functional consequences of nucleic acid immunity on a systemic level:
In addition to the research projects, there is also a central (Z) project which is responsible for the overall scientific and administrative coordination of the center.
